Ricardo Domeneck (Brazil)

A poet, short-story writer, essayist, and visual artist, he was born in Bebedouro, São Paulo, in 1977. He has published twelve poetry collections, including Cabeça de galinha no chão de cimento (2023), which won two of Brazil's most prestigious literary honors: the Jabuti and the Alphonsus de Guimarães awards. In 2017, he made his prose debut with the book Manual para Melodrama and the short story Sob a sombra da aboboreira; another of his short works, Os dias públicos, is currently being adapted into a film. With part of his poetic work translated in Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands, he recently released First Epistle to the Amphibians (World Poetry, 2026), his first book translated into English. He lives and works in Berlin.
