Anna Terék (Serbia/Hungary)

Born in 1984 in Bačka Topola, Vojvodina. She lives and works in Budapest, where she completed a Master's degree in Psychology at Eötvös Loránd University. A poet and playwright, she has published several award-winning works in Hungary, such as Danube Street (2011, Ervin Sinkó Prize); Dead Women (2017, Csáth Géza and Sziveri János prizes); Back on the Sun (2020, Füst Milán Prize); as well as the books Tear of the Smile (2007) and Ice (2026). Her poetry has been translated into several languages and is featured on the international platform Lyrikline in Berlin. In 2013, her debut play, Apply for the Best! / Make the Best Appear!, was staged at the National Theatre of Novi Sad in Serbia.
