Inês Dias (Portugal)

Poet, teacher, and translator, she lives in Lisbon with her three cats. Together with Manuel de Freitas, she has run the Averno publishing house since 2002, a project to which Inês added her own imprint, Alambique, created in 2014. With a vast body of work in major literary translation, she has brought into the Portuguese language works by fundamental authors such as Sylvia Plath, Virginia Woolf, Leonard Cohen, Louise Glück, and Lydia Davis. In poetry, she made her debut with Em caso de tempestade este jardim será encerrado (Tea For One, 2011) and most recently published Os Pequenos Fantasmas (Corsário-Satã, 2022).
