Owen Good

Northern Ireland, 1989. Is an editor, writer and a translator of Hungarian poetry and prose. He began translating Hungarian fiction and poetry while studying at University College London (UCL), where he majored in Hungarian studies. He has published four works of translated fiction with Seagull Books, including Krisztina Tóth’s Pixel, Pál Závada’s historical novel Market Day, and most recently Ferenc Barnás’ Other Death. His translations of Krisztina Tóth’s poetry received Asymptote’s Close Approximations Prize and was nominated for the TA First Translation Prize, the EBRD Literary Prize, and the Warwick Prize for Women in Translation. In 2025, he was awarded the Tibor Déry Prize for contribution to Hungarian literature.
