Lisbon Revisited: Poetry Days 2026

From October 16 to 18, Casa Fernando Pessoa welcomes poets from Brazil, Hungary, Palestine, and Portugal for readings and conversations about work—and about life. The music will be performed by Selma Uamusse.

In this latest edition of the Lisbon Revisited festival, we welcome four poets making their Portuguese debut, including Anna Terék, a Hungarian poet and playwright whose work has been translated into several languages and has won numerous awards.

From Palestine come Dalia Taha—a poet, playwright, novelist, and lecturer at Birzeit University—and Marwan Makhoul, a poet, writer, and playwright whose work has been translated into more than twenty languages.

The festival will feature brand-new, unpublished translations of the poems, prepared especially for the event.

We welcome Ricardo Domeneck, a Brazilian poet, short-story writer, essayist, and visual artist. In 2023, he won two of Brazil’s most prestigious literary prizes: the Jabuti and the Alphonsus de Guimarães. One of his short works, Os dias públicos, is currently being adapted for the screen.

The Portuguese poets participating in this seventh edition of Lisbon Revisited include Inês Dias, a lecturer and translator of authors such as Sylvia Plath, Virginia Woolf, and Louise Glück; Manuel de Freitas, a poet, editor, essayist, and translator; Pedro Eiras, a professor of Portuguese Literature at the University of Porto and a prolific author whose work—spanning poetry, theater, and essays—has been translated and staged internationally; and, finally, Raquel Nobre Guerra, a poet and essayist whose writing has won the Portuguese PEN Club Prize and the CGD/Culturgest New Writers’ Prizes.

Across three days, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with contemporary poets from diverse backgrounds, experience live poetry readings, and join insightful discussions about the processes, influences, and themes shaping their work.

The festival will also feature a performance by Selma Uamusse, an artist whose musical journey blends diverse cultures and styles. Her concert transcends the boundaries of poetry, showing how words can truly flourish when brought to life by voice and music.

Organised by Casa Fernando Pessoa since 2018, the Lisbon Revisited poetry festival has established itself as a global meeting point for poetry.
