Dinis Borges
Born on the island of Terceira, Azores. At 10, he moved to the United States with his parents. He holds a bachelor's degree from Chapman University and a master's degree from California State University in Ethnic Literature of the United States. He is the author of several books dedicated to political and cultural analysis of the U.S. and its communities. He has translated and published poetry, fiction and essays from Portuguese to English. He is the founding director of the Portuguese Beyond Borders Institute at California State University in Fresno. He has been the recipient of several distinctions, including Foreign Languages Teacher of the Year in California, in 2017.
